Different Ways to Access the Internet

The internet is the biggest piece of technology in the past several decades that has changed the way people communicate and behave on a daily basis. The advancements have also happened at an incredibly fast pace. All you need in order to access the internet is a computer or a device with internet access, and there are a lot of different varieties to choose from, thanks to Microsoft, Apple, and Google.

Desktop Computers

Although this seems to be the grandfather of computers because it was the original way that users were able to get connected on the internet, it is still a very viable choice. Desktop computers in general are larger, which means they have more space to store memory and software. In turn, this means that you are able to have a more powerful computer and do internet tasks at a much greater speed.

Laptop Computers

Laptop computers are great for people who want to access the internet but don’t want to have to do it in one place. They are particularly common among college students, but most people also enjoy being able to sit on the couch to surf the net rather than at a desk constrained to one space.

Tablet Computers

These are handy little devices for accessing the internet, but they do not have the capabilities or power of the larger counterparts, such as desktops and laptops. You can use them as an ereader, download apps, and do general internet surfing, but you’ll also want a desktop or laptop for larger scale surfing as well as for word processing.

Smartphones

Many people now have advanced cell phones that have access to the internet; it is great to be able to look anything up when you are on the go. Smartphones are also great because they have apps for just about anything, including GPS systems, TV remotes, NFC capabilities, games, task enhancers, etc.
